Third semester was actually a shocking
semester for my class. We met a new style of teaching by the lectures and also
the assignments never stopped coming in every meeting. Every day we had to deal with
the full time of studying. My friends
and I were little bit bored and thinking of something to keep our spirit and to
kick out the boredom.
It was in the evening, while we were doing
our group’s assignment in my boarding house. We were talking about how if we
taught young children for free. The main problem was where. Then, one of my
friend said how about if we taught the young children in her village. We
spontaneously said yes. In the next day, we informed this plan to our
classmates. Their responses were really good. They also said to help us too.
After did discussion, we had conclusion that we would teach the students once a
week in Sunday morning. Talking about the fund, we decided to use our own money
to conduct this program.
Our first visit held
on Sunday, October 25 2015. The place was located in Seririt, Bulleleng, and it
took us 45 minutes to reach it. After we
arrived, we were very surprised to see the amount of the students. We had
really big class to teach. It was more than fifty students came with the big
enthusiasm in our teaching program. It made our tiredness faded away. We were starting our teaching with introducing all
the volunteers first and then divided the students based on their classes. The
volunteers did the same thing too. We divided ourselves into the students’
group to make us easier to teach and handle the class.![]() |

Every Sunday morning we came to teach
them. The material in each meeting depended on the student’s comprehension that
made the material in every group would be different. We also did game that
related to the material to avoid the boredom and refresh the students mind.
After teaching we had small review and discussed if there were some things that
had to be solved. We shared our experiences in teaching them and how far they
understood with the material. We also
made the plan for the next meeting. So we could have well preparations.

“Nothing lasts forever”, we had to end or our teaching program
due to the Pesraman that would held
at the place where we taught the students. The students also had to follow the Pesraman. So that, we did the farewell
on Sunday December 2015. It was so sad because we really liked to teach the
students there. Besides that we got many experiences. We also could keep in
mind the knowledge by teaching the students. In other words, it helped us to
remember the lesson that rarely to be used. So glad to have the chance to teach
those students and my friends and I were really grateful too. Thank you for all
who had helped this program until the end.
